Orchestra
North Coventry Elementary Orchestra
The North Coventry Elementary Orchestra Program provides students in third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades with the opportunity to learn and perform on string instruments, including violin, viola, cello, and bass. The program encourages students to develop musical skills, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Students receive weekly instruction and participate in rehearsals before the school day. Throughout the year, orchestra students have the opportunity to perform in Winter and Spring concerts as well as special programs at North Coventry Elementary.
String lessons are available at school, free of charge, for students in grades 3–6 who are interested in learning violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students must provide a rented or purchased instrument before beginning lessons.
The North Coventry Orchestra Program is organized into three ensembles:
Junior Orchestra
Designed for beginning orchestra students, Junior Orchestra introduces students to the fundamentals of playing a string instrument and performing as part of an ensemble.
Senior Orchestra
Senior Orchestra is for students in their second through fourth years of playing. Students continue to develop their technique, musical understanding, and ensemble skills through more advanced instruction and performances.
District Orchestra
District Orchestra is an audition-selected ensemble featuring specially chosen student musicians from all five Owen J. Roberts elementary schools. Students in this group have the opportunity to collaborate with other advanced orchestra students across the district.
The North Coventry Elementary Orchestra Program is directed by Miss Jennings and Mr. Puleo. For more information, please contact:
