The journey starts with a single letter.
The National Spelling Bee first started in 1925 when nine newspapers joined together to host a spelling bee. Little did they know that over 90 years later their literacy effort would reach 11 million students every year. The National Spelling Bee is about much more than spelling, word origins and correct pronunciation. It is about inspiring confidence and a love of language that lasts a lifetime
Every year, a speller (or two!) is declared the National Spelling Bee Champion. Their journeys started at home or in a classroom across America.
North Coventry is hosting its Annual Spelling Bee. All children in grades K-6 are invited to participate. Each age group is restricted to 25 students.
