Attendance Information

Research shows that regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Being at school every day helps children learn, grow, and build good habits.

Absence Reporting Hotline (available 24 hours)

610-469-5688

Parents/Guardians must notify the school if their child will be absent or late.

Please call the evening before or by the start of the school day on the morning of the absence.

Only authorized parents or guardians may report an absence.

All absence information, including phone calls, is recorded and kept by the School Attendance Office as the official record.

How to Report an Absence

  1. Call 610-469-5688

  2. The system will direct you to the correct school building.

  3. Calls may be recorded for security or verification purposes.

  4. At the tone, please clearly state:

    • The student's first and last name

    • Your name (parent/guardian)

    • Your relationship to the student

    • The student’s grade

    • The reason for the absence or tardiness

    • The teacher or homeroom (if known)

    • A return phone number

If your child is absent for more than one day, please call the attendance line each day unless told otherwise by the attendance secretary.

If a student is absent and no call is received, the school office will attempt to contact the parent/guardian by phone.

Medical Excuses

  • Any student absent three or more consecutive days must provide a physician’s note.

  • Written excuse notes sent by hand or fax are still accepted.

Why Attendance Matters

  • A student who is 10 minutes late every day misses 30 hours of instruction during the school year.

  • Every school day counts!

How Families Can Support Good Attendance

  • Talk with your child about why coming to school every day is important.

  • Avoid scheduling vacations or appointments during school hours when possible.

  • Make sure your child gets enough sleep, healthy food, and exercise.

  • Do not allow unnecessary absences or tardiness.

  • Ask your child about their school day.

  • Support school rules about attendance and being on time.

  • Show your child how education helps people succeed.

  • Lead by example. Children learn good habits by watching adults.
